Office Hours During Class sessions are as follows: Monday, Tuesday & Thursday from 1 PM - 9 PM; Wednesday & Friday from 9 AM - 5 PM or by appointment.
We're looking for a few good volunteers! Short-term committee members for our Marketing Committee to advise on our 2012 marketing plan and communication with clients, volunteers and donors. As well, our Fundraising Committee is recruiting members to help oversee ASSETS’ role in the 2012 Homebrewers Ball and a first time collaborative signature event with Power Packs Project and Girls on the Run with the support of Fig Lancaster in late 2012. ASSETS has been named a 2012 Social Mission Partner with Fig Lancaster! Our focus on blogs, social media and Fig's quarterly magazine will be on business for social change!
In December, ASSETS was awarded a competetive grant through the Lancaster County Community Foundation's Ah-Ha Project. We will be completing a feasibility study around microfinance and social enterprise training and support.
ASSETS is a proud member of AEO and One In Three: If 1 in 3 microenterprises in the US would hire just one employee, the US would be at full employment!
Since our inception in 1993, ASSETS has supported well over 1,200 entrepreneurs in obtaining their goals. Our staff and volunteers are entrepreneurs, current small business owners and bankers - among others. Our focus is on local microenterprise development and fostering economic development in our diverse Lancaster communities.
We're currently part-way through a Business Design and Management Course Series, including a pilot course on self-employment for resettled refugees.
The next class begins Tuesday May 8 and runs for 10 weeks from 6 - 9 PM. Our fall class starts September 11. Additional classes may be offered as needed.
Applications are due by 5:00 PM on April 24 and must include income verification as listed in the application (for ASSETS funding requirements). A registration fee of $75 will hold your place in the class, which always fills up, so sign up early! We will establish a waiting list this year in case spaces open.
Applicants must attend an Orientation Session. The session for the May class will be Tuesday April 3 from 5 - 6:30 PM and is free and informative, with the goal to help you decide if the class is something you want to complete.
We offer free technical assistance to existing business owners or those exploring business start-up. Contact us to schedule a meeting! We will evaluate your needs and can connect you with services, workshops and technical assistance to help you with your small business. We look forward to hearing from you.
