First and Third Wednesdays of Each Month - 11 AM - 12 Noon (one hour)

We will offer FREE one-hour orientation sessions for those interested in exploring business ownership. Orientation sessions will cover local programs and services and connect you with the resources you may need to prepare for self-employment. ASSETS Lancaster is enrolling for the next 10-week Business Design & Management Course. Class applications can be downloaded on our website, and more information is available by calling - 717.393.6089 or emailing info@assetslancaster.org. All elements of a business plan are covered in this course, taught by entrepreneurs and small business owners, and attended by fellow classmates that are taking the next step in exploring starting a business. Key topics covered include: Personal Financial Readiness and Budgeting, Start-up & Overhead Costs, Time, Sales and Profit Goals, Cash Flow, Marketing, Market Research, Pricing, Financing.

10 weeks – 6:00 – 9:00 PM, sliding scale fee.

Applications are due by 5:00 PM on April 24 and must include income verification as listed in the application (for ASSETS funding requirements). A registration fee of $75 will hold your place in the class, which always fills up, so sign up early! We will establish a waiting list this year in case spaces open.

Applicants must attend an Orientation Session. The session for the May class will be Tuesday April 3 from 5 - 6:30 PM and is free and informative, with the goal to help you decide if the class is something you want to complete.

This introductory class geared toward resettled refugees will focus on business basics, personal readiness, sales & profit goals, start-up costs, tax and legal overview. Class time will focus on enterprises already being tested or explored, including farming and food services. In partnership with Habecker Mennonite Church.
