Over the past 18 years we have connected generous local business people with aspiring entrepreneurs in mentoring matches. In September 2011, we started a new affiliation with MicroMentor, an affiliate of MercyCorps Northwest.

MicroMentor provides an online platform to connect mentors and entrepreneur mentees. Local matches can be made, and mentoring can happen in person, email, phone or online conferencing.

Average matches last about three months, with support/check-in from MicroMentor and ASSETS along the way. How it works:

1        Register- Go to our group page on MicroMentor and follow the links to join and create a profile. Describe your strengths and expertise.

2        Search- Use the search and match tools to actively seek connections, and review and approve direct requests from others in our network.

3        Connect- Once connected, your mentoring relationship will progress via email and phone, or face to face (when possible). Matches typically will last about three months.

The impact of mentoring is tremendous – mentored entrepreneurs report a 75% increase in median annual business sales, an 87% business survival rate, and a 68% increase in the number of jobs provided by their businesses!
